ESG 101

ESG 101

A Workshop on Environmental, Social, and Governance

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is a sustainability framework that takes a holistic approach to identify and manage environmental and social risks and opportunities. It emerges from a set of good industry standards to reduce negative impacts and build positive impacts for value creation. It is a tool that enables businesses to develop sustainability systems and programs. ESG is fundamental for sustainability reporting that takes into account the people, planet, and profit.

For any institution to transform towards sustainability, it is important to do no harm while creating a positive impact. This translates to stronger financial performance, improved environmental impact, and increased societal values. ESG strategy enables an organization to gain stakeholders’ trust and confidence, reduce operating cost, gain competitive advantage, promote stronger brand identity and also improve financial performance.

With increased ESG requirements emerging from regulators, investors, banks, consumers, and society, there is an increasing demand for ESG and Sustainability professionals and leaders. The requirement for ESG training and skills is thus growing at an unparalleled rate.

This workshop is designed for corporate leaders, fund managers, entrepreneurs, practitioners, and graduate students to build their understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals of ESG and sustainability. With a combination of theory, international and local case studies, activities, and assessment tools, the workshop will build analytical, practical, and leadership skills on application and sustainability strategy formulation.

At the end of this workshop you will be confident with knowledge and skills on ESG standards, integrating sustainability in corporate strategies, and creating value to the society, environment and the economy.
