Sandeep Shrestha

Sandeep Shrestha, ESG Expert and sustainability expert founded Sustainability Solutions Nepal (SSN). He brings over a decade of hands-on experience in sustainable business and ESG advisory. As a leading sustainability consultant in Nepal, Sandeep has built a strong reputation for ESG risk management and capacity-building work. He works across industries including impact investing, renewable energy, healthcare, agriculture, technology, education, and manufacturing.

Sandeep serves as a Social Sustainability Consultant at the World Bank. He also works as a Business and Human Rights Expert at UNDP. These roles place him among trusted advisors to two of the world’s most respected development institutions. Sandeep’s standing as an ESG and sustainability expert shows in another role too: he judges the prestigious ESG Investing Awards. There, he evaluates leading ESG and sustainability practices from organizations around the world.

Sandeep holds three key certifications. He has earned an Internal Assessor certification from the Hydropower Sustainability Standards, has completed a Social Impact Assessment certification from the University of Strathclyde. Also, holds a Social Risk Management certification from Ergon Associates. These credentials sharpen his ability to advise clients on complex environmental and social risk challenges. He brings the rigor that international institutions expect.

Before founding SSN, Sandeep led ESG work at Dolma Impact Fund, Nepal’s largest private equity fund. He served as Head of ESG there. He also served as Director at Fair Trade Group Nepal. Over the years, Sandeep built partnerships with leading international ESG and sustainability consulting firms. These partnerships extend SSN’s reach into global best practice.

Sandeep is an MPhil in Development Studies scholar at Kathmandu University. He also holds an MBA from Saint Cloud State University in the United States. He has taught sustainable business and sustainability strategy at leading academic institutions in Nepal. Through this teaching, he shapes the next generation of sustainability professionals.
