Empowering Youth Leaders through Sustainability Mentorship
Sustainability Solutions has successfully concluded a four-month Sustainability Mentorship Program 2025, marking another milestone in its mission to prepare the country’s next generation of sustainability leaders.
The four-month program, held from August to December 2025, brought together 24 young professionals and 22 mentors from diverse fields including business, environment, development, engineering, and IT. The program featured six thematic workshops covering sustainability and impact, design thinking, sustainable business model, ESG fundamentals, business pitching, and leadership.
“This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world sustainability practice,” said Sandeep Shrestha, Founder of Sustainability Solutions. “By connecting youths with industry experts, we are equipping them with the tools, networks, and confidence to become changemakers in Nepal’s evolving sustainability landscape.”
Youth participants described the program as “refreshing” and “transformative,” highlighting how mentorship bridged classroom theory with professional application. Mentors praised the energy and dedication of the cohort, noting that the initiative created a vibrant ecosystem of collaboration and learning.
The Sustainability Mentorship Program 2025 builds on last year’s successful launch and is part of the organization’s broader “Future of Sustainability” initiative, which also includes the Sustainability and ESG workshops for youth clubs and colleges, sustainability assessment and transition plans for SMEs, sustainability research and policy reforms. Together, these initiatives aim to prepare participants with the skills and knowledge essential for leadership and bring global perspective and practices in Nepal’s sustainability sector. The Mentorship Program itself has grown from 13 mentees in its first cohort to 24 in its second, underscoring both strong engagement and high completion rates.
By embedding sustainability into corporate strategy, business models and fostering partnerships across academia, finance, and industry, Sustainability Solutions is positioning Nepal to meet global ESG standards while nurturing homegrown expertise. Since its inception, Sustainability Solutions has reached more than 4,000 youths through awareness sessions and events, trained 600 professionals, and delivered 50 workshops alongside 15 impactful events. “Our vision is clear,” Shrestha added. “Sustainability must move beyond policy into practice, and Nepal’s youth are the ones who will lead that transformation.”
